Comatosed...

I've been in coma literally for the past few days since Saturday.

'O' week has officially ended. Rag Day was the Big Bang of the entire thing so to speak.

I have lots of reflection abt Rag Day itself, and on being a Rag dancer. I guessed i've grumbled enough already abt how regretful i felt joining the dance at first cos it was so time n energy consuming... All those shouting n being shouted at cos u couldn't get ur dance steps right, all that stressful moments when u had to perform in front of seniors n get judged n criticized. Then getting information tt the president SR Nathan was gracing the event himself....

We were literally in a hot pressure cooker. Angry n frustrated mixed with a ton of other emotions.

The night before the big show we shared our thoughts with each other ard a circle with lighted candles. I have to admit i was a tad too emotional, to the brink of breaking down n cryin even... Silly me. Then we had to put on make-up as early as 2am...even though we were not stated to perform till 11:30am Sat morn.

Insanity---the rush of pure madness.

The make-up was cakey n horrible. U were almost sure it couldn't last till the next 2 hours tt kind. It would prob melt in the scorching sun, stain ur face n u'd look ghostly n uglified to the core.

Fortunately it stayed on the face, though it was flaking off.

I dunno why they initiated not sleeping...Cos u can never perform well without a clear mind. Everyone was drowsy by 8am on Sat morn. Begging to steal some mins of sleep, some sip of coffee or watever to keep us awake enough to remember our steps n dance "WITH PURPOSE".

While we awaited our turn to perform, we were badly scorched by the intense sun. Didn't slap on sunblock purely cos i wanted a tan. Bad mistake.

And then we performed.

To quote wat Tim said, : "Although it wasn't the best performance, it was full of effort." I think tats what i felt in exact words. It was a good show, we didn't let ourselves down either. Our entusiasm shone through. At least to the ARTS ppl.

Btw we didn't win anything. Biz AD bagged the most awards. Well practically everythin actually.

But it didn't matter. In our hearts, Arts had the best float, the best show.

Just because we made it.

After tt insane morning, i went home a walkin zombie. My eyes were swollen n puffy frm overwearin of contact lens, my whole back was tanned n painful.

Needless to say i slept all through the day after, forsaking Zhonghan's chalet n Ranjini's outdoor esplanade performance. *Shucks* Would have been so fun if i went.

Stephen's sending me the Rag Day photos by tonight. They're really well-taken.
Shall upload them once i get em. In the meantime, i'm goin for cheer practice. Been MIA there for the longest time.

Cheerios,
