Standard Chartered Marathon 2004

Alright this post is a little belated...Juz got the Standard Chartered pics uploaded...

The event was great! They just keep getting better year after year. But the weather was gruelling, scorching sun the entire morning till early afternoon... Who would have thought it was December?! It was more like June!

My team got there as early as 5am, race started at the wee hours of 5:30am. We got stationed at Lau Pa Sat, where we experienced major wardrobe malfunctions. Tsk Tsk, the problem with fanciful attires...

I've participated in the marathon (as cheerleader) for 2 years now(including this one), and i tell you its no minor feat... I mean of course we didn't run the whole 42.195km(i cannot even run 1 km without screaming pain!), but having to scream ur lungs and hearts out for all the endless stream of running participants is torture itself, albeit a fun and fulfilling one. :) They are such a sporty awesome bunch, and the international participants were very enthusiastic. They'd clap for us when they passed by, or simply do the thumbs-up sign or high fives...*grins*

And it was obvious many of us there were sleep-deprived. I mean i started becoming a bitch from 9am onwards. We didn't sleep well the previous night, i hadn't had breakfast, and yet we had to act like we were the most spontaneous buncha people in the world. Whats worse, we had to wait till 1pm plus for the announcers to say the results of who won, ie: best cheering team.

We didn't win. SMU Sapphires won. Yesh thats their cheer squad name. How bimbotic right?! *yucks* They won last year and this year all because their costumes were attractive. Erm..., actually thats not the word... Think slutty, seductive, ah lian style... Thats how they looked...No offence, but i really didn't think they had the standard, as in stunt-wise n stuff. But i guess in Standard Chartered, participants vote based on superficial reasons...The costumes were important.

But all in all, i guess i really enjoyed myself. :) The atmosphere was incredible, the people were awesome fun and what better way to gel the team together than some event like this one? Here's one for the camara:

Ooh btw, my younger uncle participated in the marathon too, so did local artistes Wong Li-Lin and Tay Ping Hui. It was kinda embaressing seeing my uncle, i mean he's never seen me so hyped and garang before, cheering like a maniac...*sheesh* And guess wat he did? He stuck his tongue out at me when he went pass! LOL! *hides face behind signboards*

Anywayz, i gotta change my hair style really bad! But i can't seem to think of any styles that would be nice, except relaxing it. And perming would make me look mature, short styles don't suit my face shape, so yeah! Fret Fret Fret...

I need an image consultant/style doctor to come knocking my door before Christmas beckons!

Oh ya people!, when are our movie marathons and christmas parties?! I wan them!!!
