Happy New Year EVERYONE!!!

(okie that sounds too exuberant, i'm NOT that ecstatic)

It doesn't seem like a new year to me at all...Maybe cos i didn't participate in any countdown parties this year. Spent a solitary evening at home watchin dvds...

Pathetic eh?

Well, after xmas eve, i know better than to be packed like a sardine in the sea of humanity.

Year 2004 has been one of my better years compared to previous years b4. A year of increased maturity, changed image(actually juz losing those specs), physical changes, painful lessons learnt, unforgettable experiences and NUS...

It feels like a good 2 years have gone by instead of juz one.

The few things i remember:

#1--Spent Countdown 2004 at sentosa performing as part of Denvers Cheerleading team. Still remember how estatic i was that night when we chilled at bbq in East Coast, when practically everyone else were lamenting abt their crushed hearts n abysmal love lives...

Hello? Where does that put me?! :(

#2--Left Denvers with a few others to form Free-z. Brand new team, new friends, new challenges. Took part in Nationals 2004 Cheerobics. We didn't win anythin, but the experience was a once-in-a-lifetime. I've stuck with the team till now, became vice-capt, and met a bunch of people, Augustio, Crystal, Berry, Ice etc. Frens who i'l prob know for a long time...:) Its been a whirlwind year for us, i hope we'll keep the drive n passion even stronger.

#3--Had my first part-time job as outdoors promoter, total nightmare, a couple of important lessons learnt the hard way abt finding a job, and a legal one that is.

#4--Job stint at Swensens as waitress. Even though it was all for only 2 months, but boy was it an eye-opener. I remember my very gay colleague(who shocked me with the make-up n sanitary pads i found in his bag), the very transversite thai-boys shaped so incredibly like flawless women but frightened me with their booming voices, as well as the countless glasses of water i dropped(some on customers) in the course of my time there...

Tsk. Accident-prone waitress really.

#5--A lot of other first times...Ditching my specs for lenses, filming my first tv commercial(which did not air locally), getting my first model interview(which did not work out cos dad did not permit), getting my hair permed n highlighted etc...

#6--My work as L'oreal Promoter, the good pay, the very nice company i got introduced to that i can always count on for future job opportunities. Hail Actmedia, bye joblessness.

#8--For turning 2 decades old, and starting to feel like hag.

#9--NUS arts camp, then O'week. Where everything first started.:)

#10--EN1101E: for letting me rediscover my love for lit, GEK2000: for expanding my history knowledge, EL1101E: for letting me find joy in syntax, morphemes n phonological sounds, GE1101E: for scaring me off a geog major, EC1101E: for scaring me even greater off an econs major.

#11--The tsunami, the political climate of our world n its ever pressing problems. Events that makes things in my life pale in comparison n seem oh so secondary.

#12--And to this blog, for turning exactly a year old. Started off more as a private space for me to vent down my frustrations n type down my inane blabberings. Has turned into a more public space now though, an avenue where i express my thoughts freely n openly. My innermost feelings n thoughts? Well they've found residence in my penned diary instead. For my one n only viewing pleasure..

And to do a Bridget Jones diary entry imitation, for the record straight:

An amazingly incredible relationship: zero
An amazingly incredible guy: zero
Marriages(mine n others): one(Ling's)
Babies(of cos others): one (cousin Amber)
Deaths(of those i know): thankfully zero

And my hopes for the new year?

Really just happiness, peace and good health. For me and everyone else around me.:)

And of course good academic results...(enter the geekified me)

And that amazingly incredible r/s n guy wouldn't hurt either...

actually they wouldn't hurt at all. Heh.
