On childhood...

A mother once wrote on her own personal webpage that the greatest thing she could ever give to her 2 children was the memory of a great childhood. As we all grow up and enter the world of adulthood, we face a whole new sense of uncertainty, of responsibility, of burden, of anxiety, of competition, of a lifetime strive for materialistic wealth. And often enough in times of personal affliction, strain and distress we turn to moments of our childhood and recall the lingering memory of its happier times, and we yearn to be young and carefree again.

What we remember from childhood we remember forever - permanent ghosts, stamped, inked, imprinted, eternally seen. ~Cynthia Ozick

To that little kid in me that never quite wanted to grow up~

The greatest poem ever known
Is one all poets have outgrown:
The poetry, innate, untold,
Of being only four years old.
