Melbourne-Sydney May 2006!

Melbourne First Day (06.05.06)

collage

Breakfast. Victoria Market. & Our Long Shopping Spree down the entire stretch of Factory Outlets. It took us just the 1st day to burn Aussie moolahs like nobody's business. True hallmarks of us Singaporean women.

Melbourne Great Ocean Road (07.06.06)

collage2

Great Ocean Road was a near 7.5hr coach bus ride meandering along Aussie's most famous coastlines. We saw the Twelve Apostles, the London-bridge just to name the few. The ride was HORRIBLE!!! I got motion sickness not long after, did a merlion several times in that cramp cubicle at the back of the bus, while i got trusted back n forth mercilessly as the bus rode along winding uneven roads. I still remembered feeling all weak n miserable, and feeling like sucha liability cos Char, Swi n Ginbean had to accompany me to the restroom on those occasions. *Big Hugs to u Gals*

And as you can see from those pictures, the wind was CRAZY! So many tat-glam poses, all the static looking hair criss-crossing our faces & hair in our mouth moments, even Charz couldn't quite maintain her diva image with her sunglasses and scarf (aka Audrey Hepburn). =D

Sydney! (08-11.05.06)

Sydney's weather is almost puurfect. Neither too chillingly cold, or blistering hot, though there are great variations in temperatures throughout a day. The dudes are cute(of course i meant the guys), street wear and fashion is so much better compared to Singapore, and the food( a lil pricey) and boutiques! is madness. Ooh...I wanna migrate to Sydney!

A few snapshots of the moments spent there:

Bondi oooh Bondi!

Bondi beach was breath-taking. Even the pictures are pretty inadequate to justifiably describe it. It was utterly scenic and beautiful. Imagine looking out into the sheer vastness of the ocean, the sapphire and aqua blue of the waters, basking in the glorious chilly yet sunny weather, peering out at the surfers strutting their stuff near the coastline and catching every now and then a buncha seagulls flying by...Quite magnificant really~

Four of us crazy gals jumped on the sand and photo-whored until i had to buy extra batteries to sustain my overused camera. Boy were we quite a sight. =)

And Swi, Bondi had no sharks. -_-

Sydney Harbour Bridge/Opera House

We climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Actually i was pretty much disappointed at how unchallenging the climb was ("The Climb of your Life" is really such an exaggeration & commercial ruse), though the view at the peak was worth the experience i guess.

Sydney Opera house was an even greater let-down. From far its quite a sight, yet when you stick your face closer you see its true colors (literally). Tints of yellowish stains on what looked like cheap toilet tiles, covered with coats of dust, the place reeking of sheer neglect. For a national symbol it was really badly maintained and poorly managed. Pales in comparison to our Esplanade even.

Before We Headed back to Sing-a-pore:

And buying up Krispy Kreme doughnuts at Sydney's Airport on the international flight back home! We brought a dozen each. And mine was all eaten up in a mere 2 days, the glutton brudders i have..

And there you have the abridged version of a really eventful trip. Sorry i couldn't quite include eveything since the pictures or page would take eons to load. Read Gina's blog at http://sunshineystarzz.blogspot.com/ for more that i missed here. =)

I loved Down-under..

Til we meet again old Aussie!

god bless
