the ride home today just made me all the more certain about you.

Its weird how at times when u wish for something so bad
And it comes a-knocking
All you seem to want to do is to push it away...

And age really changes the way we see things
I look at my dad now and i finally feel the love he has for me
I know its weird but i've never felt this way about him ever

years back being near him
meant paralysing fear, intense hatred and agonizing pain

Now i can truly say
i care about dad, cos i know he cares about me

Even though our foolish prides refuses to acknowledge it

Nevertheless
i hope someday the silence recedes
to smiles and nice words
to laughter and kind ways
and perhaps these are enough

Enough to bridge that invisible gap between us.
